Overview :
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is offering multiple paid research internships in the DREAM:Lab, Department of Computational and Data Sciences, Bengaluru. Candidates who are interested in Systems and Machine Learning (ML) research will benefit greatly from this opportunity. Selected interns will work on cutting-edge distributed computing and AI applications in fields such as autonomous vehicles, genomics, and national supercomputing initiatives.
Eligibility Requirements :
Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to submit an application for this research internship:
- Students pursuing a B.E. in their final or preceding year /B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- proficient Python programming skills A plus is C/C++ expertise.
- Knowledge of scripting, debugging, automation, and Linux familiarity with frameworks for machine learning like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Knowledge of edge computing platforms like the Raspberry Pi, Nvidia Jetson, and Nvidia GPUs as well as virtualization technologies like Docker During the internship, there were no concurrent internships or academic commitments.
Subjects of Study :
The following are some of the high-impact research areas where interns will work:
- Edge devices and deep learning ML workload scheduling and orchestration.
- Platforms for data and analytics for IoT and edge computing.
- High-performance, distributed computing for AI models.
- Scalability and optimization of AI workloads on multi-GPU clusters.
Mode of Duration :
- Internship Period: Two to Three Months
- Beginning in April 2025
- In-person at IISc Bangalore
